Margaret Nicole Braun’s mural at BOX 13 is inspired by a past series of her own drawings/transfer prints that explored hands, patterns, and graphic lines. The mural’s aesthetic draws from classic blueprints and is inspired by Houston’s ever developing East Side and BOX 13’s commitment to cultivating creativity and supporting Houston artists.
Margaret Nicole Braun is a visual artist and poet currently residing in Houston, Texas. Margaret grew up in Southampton, New York. She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated cum laude with a BFA in general fine arts in 2012. Her current fine artwork uses processes of painting, drawing, writing, papermaking, printmaking, and sculpture. Margaret works as a mural painter and draws inspiration for her own mural designs from her fine artwork and sketchbook writing and drawings. Margaret has exhibited and painted in New York, Maryland, Texas, Florence, Italy, and St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
