Alexander Squier

Alexander Squier is an interdisciplinary artist whose projects include installations, printmaking, drawing, photography, video, and collaborative works. Squier earned his BFA from the University of Rochester, and his MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston (Tufts University) in 2013. Squier returned to his hometown of Houston in 2015, and currently has a studio at BOX 13 Artspace in Houston’s East End, and teaches printmaking at the Glassell School of Art and the University of Houston. Alexander’s work is a critical response to the dynamic between our natural and built environments, specifically Houston. Through a quasi-archaeological lens, Squier creates new contexts in which to reconsider our landscape, and to question human legacy.
