Mural Proposals

Mural Proposal Information

***BOX 13 is NOT currently accepting Mural Proposals. Our last round closed September 30th, 2019. See submission guidelines below***

Mural artists receive a $1,000 stipend and a materials budget to be negotiated upon acceptance. BOX 13 will provide equipment, such as a lift, ladders, and painting supplies. Artists may reside outside the city of Houston, however, BOX 13 does not cover expenses for travel or accommodations.  During the project, the muralist will be provided a key to BOX 13 to access the building’s utilities and store materials inside.

Images of the wall are shown in the gallery below and an elevation of the wall with measurements can be found below.

Mural proposals are selected by a committee of BOX 13 residents over two rounds of review. In the second round, three finalists will be interviewed (via video chat if necessary) and a final artist chosen.

All proposals must be submitted in digital format. No snail mail please. Send us your proposal(s) and images via email to box13artspace@gmail.com with the subject line “BOX 13 Mural Proposal.” Alternatively, all requested material can be posted to a single page on a website, and a link may be submitted.
